Milling & Reclamation

What Is Milling?
Milling scarifies the existing pavement to the right depth for a new asphalt layer to be installed over top of. Milling and overlay work provides a brand-new pavement without requiring the time and cost of a full replacement.
Contact us today to see if milling is right for your property. One of our pavement specialists will come out to perform a thorough site evaluation.
The Process
Preparation
We remove debris from the surface, clean it, and evaluate the existing pavement’s condition.
Milling
We mill the existing pavement 1-1/2 to 2” in depth from curb to curb, remove all milled asphalt and other debris, then sweep the surface.
Surface Repair
We inspect the base for cracks and other failures to identify sections that must be repaired or replaced.
Application
We pour 1 ½-2 inches of compacted hot mix asphalt onto the surface.
Finishing & Marking
We apply striping and other pavement markings to the new asphalt according to the existing layout or new layout, if relevant.

What Is Reclamation?
Reclamation decreases the cost of excavating the pavement and hauling away debris. We recycle cracked and failing bases by grinding, blending & compacting the old subbase to create a stronger foundation for the new pavement, helping it perform better and last longer.
